Mbopy / Buyer Protection

Buy with clarity and protection.

This policy explains the protection service Mbopy provides when you buy from an independent merchant on the platform.

Effective date: 1 September 2026

What Buyer Protection does

Buyer Protection supports a protected payment flow: the product and delivery amounts are held while the order is accepted, prepared, delivered and checked. Mbopy keeps an order record and provides support or mediation when a covered problem is reported.

It does not replace mandatory consumer rights, a merchant warranty, product insurance, or a buyer’s duty to read the listing and inspect the package before confirmation.

Checkout, funds & confirmation

Checkout separately displays the product total, Buyer Protection Fee, delivery charge and total due. The Buyer Protection Fee pays for the protection and transaction service; the product and delivery amounts are managed through the protected order flow.

Inspect the package and product before sharing the QR or secret confirmation code. Confirmation records handover and may release the product amount to the merchant. Report a problem through the order before confirmation whenever reasonably possible.

Problems Mbopy can review

Mbopy can review an order that the merchant cancels or cannot fulfil, a non-delivery, visible damage, a missing item, a materially different item, or another supported payment or delivery issue. A partial issue can lead to a partial resolution where only part of the order is affected.

A change of mind, an incorrect address, repeated buyer unavailability, refusal without a covered issue, or a report made after a knowing confirmation may limit the available resolution, subject to mandatory law.

How to use the protection

Open the relevant order, describe the problem and desired result, and provide the order reference, timeline, clear photos or video, packaging evidence and relevant communications. Keep the item and packaging until Mbopy gives return instructions.

Mbopy may request evidence from the buyer, merchant, delivery partner, payment provider or other relevant party. Decisions use the record and available evidence; they do not prevent any mandatory right or lawful external remedy.
